The NestEgg Scoring and Levels System Explained

At the heart of the NestEgg workplace wellness program is a system designed for fairness, accountability, and fun. Our unique Levels system and scoring mechanism ensure that people of all fitness levels can compete fairly, making exercise a collective, rewarding experience.

Here’s a breakdown of how our scoring and competition work—this is what keeps people motivated and moving!

Earning Your Exercise Points

Every workout your employees log earns them Exercise Points.

  • How Points are Calculated: Points are based on both the duration and intensity of the exercise. Whether it's a brisk walk, a yoga session, or strength training, it all contributes.
  • Low-Friction Logging: Our core philosophy is Any Exercise, Any Place, Any Time. Workouts are uploaded automatically from connected wearable devices or via a simple photo upload for unsupported devices, making the process fast and easy.

The Levels System: Fair Competition for Everyone

The Levels system is our handicap system for fitness. It ensures that an avid marathon runner and someone just starting their fitness journey can both compete effectively and motivate their team.

  • Individualized Targets: Each "Egg" (participant) is assigned their own weekly target based on their current Level. These targets are rooted in health science, aligning with the WHO/US Dept of Health physical activity guidelines.
  • Promotion and Demotion: Competition is at the individual level, not against an absolute benchmark:
    • Hit 100% of your weekly target to maintain your current Level.
    • Achieve above 100% and you may be promoted to a higher Level.
    • Drop below 50% of your target and you may be demoted.

This system creates accountability and provides achievable goals, constantly reinforcing movement and momentum.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Egg Score & Nest Score

The real magic happens in the team dynamic, known as the Nest. The Nest is the core micro-community (typically a 5-person team) that drives and motivates behavior change.

1. The Egg Score

Your individual performance is calculated as your Egg Score.

  • The Egg Score is your weekly percentage—how close you came to hitting your personalized weekly target.
  • Hitting 100% of your target means a 100% Egg Score, making you a strong contributor to your team.

2. The Nest Score

The success of your team relies on the consistency of all members.

  • Your individual Egg Score is added to your team's score to calculate the Nest Score.
  • The Nest Score is the average of the Egg Scores of all five participants in the team.

By focusing on your own individualized weekly target, you directly help your Nest win! The overall system leverages accountability, community buzz, and a sense of belonging to create a sustainable "Play Loop" for long-term habits.
